This past weekend, the Refuge Baptist Church family gathered for a joyful and heartwarming Church Picnic filled with laughter, love, and a very special moment that none of us will forget.

Fellowship, Fun, a Feast and the Word

The afternoon began with games and fellowship. Children laughed and played while adults enjoyed good conversation and friendly competition.

From the moment the grills fired up, the aroma of delicious food filled the air. There was something for everyone—juicy hamburgers, sizzling hot dogs, crispy fried chicken, and all the classic side dishes that make a church picnic feel like home. Tables overflowed with mac and cheese, potato salad, baked beans, and more.

And the desserts? Oh, the desserts! From pineapple upside-down cake to shoofly pie, the spread was a sweet lover’s dream. There were pies, cakes, brownies, and even a nostalgic favorite—Chocolate Dirt!

After everyone had their fill, the event continued with a moment of reflection as the Pastor shared a brief but powerful word from Scripture, reminding us of the blessings of community and faith.

A Proposal to Remember

Just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, Brother Orlando stepped forward with a surprise announcement. With friends and family gathered around, he proposed to Ms. Rene—and she said YES! The crowd erupted in joyful celebration.

Congratulations to the Happy Couple!

We are thrilled to celebrate the engagement of Brother Orlando and Ms. Rene. May their journey together be filled with love, faith, and joy.

Closing Thoughts

The Refuge Baptist Church Picnic was more than just a gathering—it was a beautiful reminder of the power of community, the joy of shared meals, and the blessings that come when we come together in faith.
